Move over, Trader Joe’s and your famous “2 Buck Chuck.” There’s a new cheap-o alternative in town, this time from Target.
The mega retailer recently began selling their own exclusive line of wines for just five bucks a bottle, aimed at the deeper pocketed Charles Shaw consumer who doesn’t mind shelling out a few extra Washingtons for a “classier” experience.
The new line is called California Roots and includes five wine blends “carefully crafted with premium, California-grown grapes” (according to the official press release). The assortment includes a Moscato, Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and a red blend.
The Grape Geeks have yet to get our hands on a bottle because it has consistently sold out at our local Target store. Have you tried the new Target brand wine? Have your own tasting notes to share? Let us know in the comments below!
We haven’t seen it yet, but now I’ll be looking for it. Wonder who’s bottling it for them.
