An ancient wine growing area is making a comeback after a long hiatus, and it’s garnering praise in the process. Italy’s Alto Piemonte Region, located in the Northeast corner at the foot of the Alps, is an area that’s producing great wine. The region has ten appellations, including Boca, Gattinara, Ghemme, Lessona, Sizzano, and many others. The big boy, of course, is the famed Barolo.
